Jeri Cartwright founded her media relations business in 1996, working for a number of well-known national and local clients. In 2005, she was selected as one of "30 Women to Watch" by Utah Business magazine. Cartwright Communications is the recipient of a 2002 "Giant Step" Small Business Award from the Salt Lake Chamber.

Jeri's ability to create and sustain positive, credible relationships with reporters is due, in part, to her ten years in broadcast news. She worked as the evening anchor and reporter at KOLD TV (CBS affiliate) in Tucson, Arizona and also at KUTV (CBS affiliate) in Salt Lake City as an anchor, reporter and producer. Her prior experience as vice president of communications for the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau and communications director for the Salt Lake County Commission (1990) laid the groundwork for her community insight.

Jeri helped host the NBA All-Star Game and the U.S. Olympic Committee's Nagano Olympics media briefing event. Just a day prior to the 2002 Winter Olympics, she helped Reebok host its annual Human Rights Awards in Salt Lake City. She worked extensively with reporters and the public during the demolition, reconstruction and grand opening of the Salt Palace Convention Center. The winner of two Golden Spike awards for excellence in public relations, she also received a regional first-place award for Best Reporting from United Press International (UPI).

Active in Utah's executive associations, Jeri is a past president of the Utah Advertising Federation (UAF), past president of the Utah Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), former board member of the Greater Salt Lake Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and also served on the boards of the Utah Better Business Bureau and Salt Lake City's Tracy Aviary.
